heidi + ricardo // engaged

When Heidi contacted me about my services last Fall, I was ecstatic. A mutual friend of our's had given her my name and email and when we finally met in our favorite coffee shop, I will never forget the way these two looked at each other. So, completely, in love. We all decided it'd be the best to wait until Spring started to have their engagement session, so that's exactly what we did!

It didn't take long for us get into the groove of things, and we spent almost 2 hours together...exploring downtown Peoria and going to one of my favorite parks. The dandelions and magic hour sun mixed together made the perfect setting for dreamy, romantic shots. But I guess I'll let you the be the judge of that. ;)

Enjoy, and be looking for photos from their wedding this upcoming June!

Much love,

holly + andy // anniversary session

Spring is just around the corner, friends. And finally the midwest is starting to have some evenings with that golden, magic hour light. While this morning I woke up to cloudy skies and snow flurries, yesterday evening was beautiful, sunny, and warm.

Let me introduce to you a couple who has inspired me since a little girl.

Meet Holly and Andy.

I was 12 when my family and I attended their wedding, and for the past 10 years as I've watched their journey from the outside I've seen them walk through many trials. Yet their love for each other and their Savior has shone brighter than anything else. They've lived out a love that has been nothing but counter cultural, servant based, and so incredibly selfless. Throughout the 10 years of their marriage, Holly has undergone chronic illness that has taken their marriage through a lot of fire. Yet at the same time, their marriage has been a testimony of the Gospel as her husband, Andy, has loved her and their 4 children selflessly through all the times dystonia took control of his wife's body.

Last night I had the privilege of taking their anniversary pictures, and it couldn't of gone any better! Holly brought their old vintage bike and she wrapped some gorgeous flowers into sheets of newspaper. Pair all that with a sweet couple and great light, this session kicked off my year wonderfully.

Thank you, Holly and Andy, for choosing me to capture your sweet love that has inspired not only I, but so many others. <3

Holly's one request was that she wanted me to capture what their love really looked in and day out. Them walking side by side down the journey of life, cane in hand, Andy's steady arm holding her, and never letting go.

Much love,
