emil + jesi // engagement catch up

These two were married on the 9th of August, and recently arrived home from their honeymoon in Mexico. They're finally starting their new life as Mr. and Mrs. Bandy, and I thought it'd be fitting to post their engagement session next in honor of them and their new adventure.

I love engagement sessions. They're probably my favorite. What makes them my favorite is that each couple is unique and each one brings something completely different than the last. What I love to do with my couples are to find out what's special to them and what makes them tick. It's my favorite thing to do as I listen to my clients talk about they're story, what they have in common, and even what they don't have in common. Brainstorming with them as to how we can implement those fun things into their engagement session gives my clients photos that represent who they are as a couple.

Emil and Jesi love coffee. So naturally, we started their shoot at one of the best coffee shops in Peoria, Thirty-Thirty Coffee Co. and ended by Peoria's Murray Baker bridge...dancing. Emil proposed to Jesi on an ice rink with High School Musical's "Can I have this dance" playing in the background, so we relived the moment. I pulled out my phone, turned it on, and watched them dance.

I loved the way these photos turned out, and I loved even more seeing how much joy and love these two friends of mine shared together. Congratulations again, Emil and Jesi!

Much love,
