mark + anna // wedding portraits

With Valentines day just around the corner I decided to post some favorites from a wedding I did last year. I'm still playing catch up from all of last year's busyness, so I thought today would be the perfect day for this post. :)

Anna has been a close friend of mine ever since we were little girls...and ever since I can remember, Mark has always been part of her story. I loved seeing their relationship blossom from little kid crushes to young love. Their story always inspires me as I reflect on how many times Anna told me she didn't think it'd work out. His family were missionaries in Mongolia, then when he came back into the states he went into the military, and she had four years worth of school in music to accomplish. There were so many ups and downs in their relationship, but the one thing they found constant was their God who they knew they could trust despite what they saw.

They celebrated their wedding day last year in July, and I was honored to be their photographer. I brought along my (amazing!) second shooter, Kathryn, and together we captured their entire day. However, today's post focuses on the couple and the sweet love they have for each other.

“He treated me with a goodness I didn’t deserve.  He didn’t make a fancy show of it but he showed me he loved me in such a loud way without any words at all.  In that moment I understood what people meant when they said that he was supposed to love me like Christ loved His bride, and I felt so honored to be a part of that.  Perhaps the better question besides “Is this my best friend?” should be, “Can this person love me when I’m a troll?”  The latter begets the former I assure you.”   –Fran Dorsey

Much love,
