caleb + melanie // king wedding

Okay, guys. You're going to love this one. I know I do! Little back story: I've known the King family for several years, and have been so privileged to be their family's photographer for some of the biggest events of their lives. Engagements, weddings, grandkid's newborn pictures, you name it! Two years ago when I photographed Caleb's sister's wedding, I remember being introduced to Melanie as Caleb's girlfriend. I remember noticing her quiet smile and sweet spirit and thinking to myself that this girl was a keeper.

And around two years later, there we were. June 20th. The morning of Caleb and Melanie's wedding day. We were all worried their backyard reception would be rained out, but the entire day was quite the opposite...extremely sunny, cloud filled, and still...almost too still. ;) But both Caleb and Melanie didn't let the heat interfere with the joy that permeated throughout their day.

Many thanks to my friend and second shooter, Laura, for all her invaluable assistance! Many of the shots you see here are her's.

GUYS. Her TRAIN! *heart eyes*

A childhood dream of Melanie's was to have her soon-to-be-husband play the music as she walked down the aisle. Caleb played a sweet rendition of the old hymn "Come thou Fount", and made her dream come true.

And if "Come thou Fount" wasn't enough, Caleb surprised Melanie with singing a song he had written especially for her. So so sweet.

Talk about a sweet getaway vehicle! I wished we had more time to take photos with it!

This was so fun. Melanie marrying into the King Family meant that she was marrying into an incredibly talented family who toured the U.S. playing gospel + bluegrass music. During the reception she got up there and played/sang a couple songs with the family!

Much love,
